Operation Christmas Child

Otherwise known as....packing shoe boxes for children who don't get gifts for Christmas.

I love packing shoe boxes.  I love knowing that somewhere "out there" is a child who will be receiving little gifts that my children so dutifully picked out.  I love knowing that there are a couple more children overseas who will be ecstatic at Christmas time this year.

It's hard for me to believe that our children...Addie and Will...could have ended up on the receiving end of the shoe boxes rather than the giving end.  Really.  Just 2 1/2 years ago their lives could have been changed through a little shoe box.

Instead, God chose to change their lives by placing them in our home.  He chose to place them where they would know every single day that they are loved.  And they are.  What a life changing moment that was.  Not only for them, but also for us.

Home....Summer, 2010

This is the week.  This week, you could help change a child's life.  You could drive your little car to town, buy all the stuff that a child would love to have...and needs to have.  You could pack it all in a shoe box and drop it off at a shoe-box-drop-off area.

Or. If you don't feel the urge to buy stuff to pack in a shoe-box, you could simply donate to help get the boxes overseas.  I think one box costs ten dollars to ship.  You can find out all the for-sure details here.

Just think of the children at the other end.
