The girl who loved school.

Once upon a time, long, long ago, there was a little girl.  A little girl who loved school.  Everything about school.  Reading, writing, 'rithmetic, recess, lunch...everything.  But especially the writing.

Then the little girl grew up.  She went to high school.  She still loved school.  Everything except science.  That was a not-fun subject.  Everything else was grand.  Especially algebra and English.  And creative writing.  Mainly because she could be creative....and it was writing.  She loved it.

Then she graduated.  She started working as a teacher's aide at the same school that she attended while in school.  She loved it.  She helped out with grades four through six.  They knew how to write.  They knew how to read.  They knew basic math.  It was great.  She worked there as a 'teacher' for three years.

Then the girl-who-grew-up got married.  She quit teaching...though she filled in as a tutor during the summer.  She loved it.  After all, she was helping with math and English...her two favorite subjects.

That lasted for about four years.  In year number five of being married, she and her husband became the parents of two Russian born children.  They were so sweet (and still are).  She was so excited about the time when her little children would finally start school.  After all, she loved school.

Two years after they brought home their children, it was time for one of the girl-who-grew-up's oldest child to start school.  The girl-who-grew-up and her husband would have loved to send the little girl to school, but thought that maybe, just maybe, she wasn't quite ready to head out into the big, bad world by herself.  After all, they acquired the first babysitter just a few months prior to the time of school starting.  So....it was decided that the girl-who-grew-up would teach the little scholar at home for kindergarten.  After all, the girl-who-grew-up loves school.

The first day went superbly well.  See?  Here's proof.

And more proof at the desk.

And more proof while the scholar was expounding on her day to her daddy.

Oh yes.  It was barrels of fun.  Both the girl-who-grew-up and the scholar loved it.

And then reality struck.  The girl-who-grew-up remembered (and still does to this day) exactly why she preferred to help out the fourth to sixth grade students......

To be continued next week.....
